Privacy Policy

This policy covers the PokeScan iOS app (“the app”) and this website, getpokescan.app. PokeScan is built local-first: your collection, scan history and settings live on your phone, and you can use the app without an account.

Camera

The app uses the camera only to recognize trading cards. Recognition runs entirely on your phone. Camera frames are never uploaded, stored or shared.

What stays on your phone

Your collections, folders, wishlist, scan history, purchase prices you enter and your settings are stored on your device. If you delete the app without signing in, they are deleted with it.

Optional account and cloud backup

If you choose to sign in with Apple or Google, we store your account identifier and the email address the provider gives us, together with the collections, wishlist and scan history the app backs up, on our backend (Supabase). We use this data only to back up and sync your collection across your devices. You can ask us to delete your account and all synced data at any time by emailing the address below; we delete it within 30 days. Signing out keeps your collection on your phone.

Card prices

To show prices, the app requests market data (TCGplayer and Cardmarket prices, and graded sale prices) for the cards you view. These requests contain card identifiers only, never personal data.

Analytics and crash reports

We use PostHog to understand how the app is used (for example, which screens are opened and whether a scan succeeded) and Sentry to receive crash and error reports. Both receive a random identifier generated for your install, your device model, iOS version, app version and language, and, if you are signed in, your account identifier. Their servers may see your IP address when receiving this data. We do not send them your email, your photos or the contents of your collection, and we do not use them for advertising.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, we store your device’s push token, app version, language, time zone and plan (free or Pro) so we can send notifications such as new set releases. Turning notifications off in iOS Settings stops them.

Contact form in the app

When you send feedback or report a problem from the app, we store your message, the email address you choose to add (optional), your device model, app version and language, so we can answer and fix the problem.

Subscriptions

Purchases are processed by Apple through your App Store account. We use RevenueCat to validate them; RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and the purchase receipt, never your payment details.

Launch waitlist on this website

If you join the waitlist on getpokescan.app, we store your email address, the page you signed up from and the site language, and use them only to tell you when PokeScan is available. We don’t share the list. Reply to that email or write to us to be removed.

What we don’t do

We do not sell your data, show third-party ads, or track you across other companies’ apps and websites.

Children

PokeScan is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it or to delete it. Wherever you live, write to the address below and we will answer within 30 days.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
